University of Massachusetts-Amherst. The Department of Sociology invites applications for an Assistant Professor Fall 2011 tenure-track position. The position is open area, although we seek to build strengths in social theory and global/transnational sociology. Sociology has strong research, graduate and undergraduate programs, and contributions to each are expected. The University has excellent work-life policies in place. Applicants should have firm expectations of a completed Ph.D. by September 2011 and be eager to join an intellectually lively, diverse, growing department.
