University of Massachusetts-Amherst. The Department of Sociology invites applications for an Assistant Professor Fall 2011 tenure-track position. The position is open area, although we seek to build strengths in social theory and global/transnational sociology. Sociology has strong research, graduate and undergraduate programs, and contributions to each are expected. The University has excellent work-life policies in place. Applicants should have firm expectations of a completed Ph.D. by September 2011 and be eager to join an intellectually lively, diverse, growing department. So they are hiring for two jobs? This is different than the labor movements job advertised previously, right? Or did they change their minds? It seems like all the contact procedures are identical.
