The College Board, a national educational organization, is conducting a search for a Policy Research Scientist for its Advocacy & Policy Center in Washington DC, focusing on three broad areas of research: college preparation and access; college affordability and financial aid; and college admissions and completion. Working with policymakers and the education community, the Center makes critical connections between policy and real-world practice to improve college outcomes for all students. RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and contribute to education policy research agenda. Design and conduct rigorous education policy research using large-scale datasets and statistical and econometric analyses. Collaborate with College Board staff and external agencies on the creation of new datasets. Initiate, manage and collaborate on research projects with external researchers and consultants. Publish and present research in a variety of forms (e.g., research papers, research reports, policy briefs, PPT) and for various outlets/audiences (e.g., journals, conferences, policymakers). Manage and nurture the development of research assistants and analysts. QUALIFICATIONS Candidates will have a Ph.D. in economics, sociology, educational research, or a related field with experience conducting rigorous empirical educational research.
