The Department of Sociology invites applicants for a one-year, full-time position during the 2011-2012 academic year; rank of either Visiting Assistant Professor (completed Ph.D.) or Visiting Instructor (without completed Ph.D.). Ph.D. is preferred. Fields of specialization are open; applicants should have a demonstrated competence in and commitment to undergraduate teaching. Wesleyan is a highly selective liberal arts college with strong support for teaching and research; teaching load is two courses per semester, including at least one semester of Introductory Sociology.
