St. Norbert College-Teaching Fellow in Sociology
A Teaching Fellowship in Sociology is available at St. Norbert College for an ABD or new Ph.D. seeking to develop a record of excellence in teaching and research in a liberal arts setting. The position features a reduced teaching load and requires neither committee work nor advising. It is designed to allow a beginning scholar/teacher ample time for research and writing while gaining well-mentored teaching experience. This is a one-year position with competitive salary, benefits, and possible summer teaching opportunity.
Duties:
The successful candidate will be responsible for 2 courses per semester (1 section of Research Methods and 1 section of Introduction to Sociology each semester) for academic year 2011-2012.
Qualifications:
ABD or Ph.D. in Sociology at time of appointment. Training and experience in quantitative research methods and statistics required. Experience teaching Research Methods preferred.
Commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduates in sociology and general education courses in a liberal arts setting.
