Job Description:
The Department of Anthropology & Sociology at Albion College invites applications for a one-year position at the visiting assistant professor level. This 2011-2012 academic year position begins in August, and includes a 3-3 teaching load as well as the possibility of some undergraduate thesis advising. Completed Ph.D. is preferred, but advanced ABD’s will be considered. The course load will include Introduction to Sociology sections and a Social Stratification course, along with upper division courses in the candidate’s areas of expertise. Applicants should send a letter of interest, curriculum vitae (including names of references), graduate transcript, sample syllabi, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and a writing sample to Scott Melzer, Interim Chair, Department of Anthropology & Sociology, Albion College, 611 E.
