The Greenspun College of Urban Affairs, University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in demography at the Assistant Professor level commencing Fall 2011.

ROLE of the POSITION
The Greenspun College of Urban Affairs is seeking qualified candidates for a tenure-track position in demography. Areas of specialty sought include environmental policy and impact, regional planning, public policy, urban systems, and climate adaptation. The Greenspun College is an interdisciplinary unit within the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and includes programs in fields related to demography. The position is also connected to a statewide initiative that examines the impact of climate change on communities, population change, and changes to environmental systems and seeks ways to improve urban sustainability.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a social science fields such as sociology, economics, political science, urban planning, geography, and environmental studies, and several years of research experience. Applicants should also have strong skills in advanced statistics, demographic and quantitative methods, data analysis and data management (e.g., SAT, STATA, GIS) and knowledge of a broad range of computer systems.
SALARY RANGE
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
