Plans for after the dissertation?

I am in the middle of a crazy writing weekend and I am getting through it by dreaming about what I might be able to do when I finish this dissertation (assuming I have some sort of job in the fall). Of course, these are mostly just dreams and they probably aren't realistic at all (Money and family obligations probably won't allow it), but the thoughts are motivating me.

- I would like to buy a 15 day Amtrak Pass and travel around to National Parks or wherever I want with novels in tow.
- Go visit friends I haven't seen because "I have been working on my dissertation."
- Rent a cabin in the mountains or a beach house for a week and sip cocktails and read trashy novels without an ounce of guilt that I should be working.

Anyone else out there have escapist motivations? What are they?

I'm going to Las Vegas when I finish...to attend the ASA meeting. But I probably will be attending fewer sessions than I normally do.

I should be finished as of this Friday, and I'm planning to play in the sun after being trapped in a windowless dungeon from now until then. SPF1000 here I come!

I like the idea of renting a beach house for a week (by myself!). I have a stack of non-soc books I'd like to explore. And I like the idea of this kind of reward, instead of stressing out so much about lining up a job (my partner and I just had a 30-minute conversation about that).
